ENT is formed by a multidisciplinary team of professionals grouped together with the desire to work towards a society which is fairer and more respectful to the Environment. We want to bring new ideas that allow us to develop a more environmentally, socially and economically sustainable society, converting them into reality and communicating the obtained results to society.   • Ignasi Puig Ventosa
    PhD in Environmental Sciences
    Project manager

    He coordinates the areas of Environmental Economics and Waste Management. His specialities are the preventative management of municipal waste and economic environmental policies applied to different areas such as waste, climate change, energy management and nature conservation.

    Energy consultant
    Project manager

    Coordinator of the energy area. He puts special focus on the strategic vision to position this area in new fields that contribute to improving sustainable energy. Innovation is a relevant aspect that he pursues in the conception of most projects.

  • Maria Calaf Forn

    environmental consultant

    Specialized in management and prevention of waste, environmental economy and waste and energy economics. Expert in the design and implementation on pay-as-you-throw systems, viability studies for the introduction of reusable nappies, plans for waste prevention or action plans for sustainable energy.

    Specialized mainly in waste management and environmental economics, in the development and implementation of projects of consultancy and international cooperation.

  • Jaume Freire González
    PhD in Applied Economics
    Researcher

    Jaume is currently working in the Department of Economics at Harvard University as a Marie Curie researcher for the next 1.5 years. After this period he will be back to ENT for 1 year more to complete the fellowship period. The METRES project aims at assessing the economic and environmental impacts of an Environmental Tax Reform.

    Specialized in the area of Economy and Environment. Particular interest in the analysis of socio-economic effects and adaptation strategies associated with climate change, ocean acidification, and other environmental pressures.

  • Veronica Martinez Sanchez
    PhD in Residual Resources Engineering
    Researcher

    Specialized in the area of waste management and decision support tools such as Life Cycle Assessment and Life Cycle Costing. Her main areas of interests are: waste prevention, circular economy and sustainable consumption. The main objective of the project in which she is involved, DECISIVE, is the valorization of biowaste from urban areas using decentralized management schemes.

    Environmental Consultant

    Biologist specialized in marine ecology, expert in Fisheries Management and Policy. Her main areas of interest are fishing, biodiversity conservation, co-management, stakeholder engagement, responsible consumption, as well as political ecology, with special emphasis on environmental justice.

  • Maria Mestre Montserrat
    Environmental Scientist
    Environmental consultant

    Specialized in the management and prevention of waste (particularly food waste), environmental taxation and environmental policy. She collaborates in the elaboration of the contents for communication materials, and she is one of the persons in charge of the journal “Ecología Política”.

  • Sergio Sastre Sanz

    Specialized in Regional Material Flow Accounting, integrated assesment and ecosystem services valuations. His main areas of interest are the economic and distributive dimension of environmental pressures as well as coastal ecosystem services valuation, particularly cultural, aesthetic and recreative services.

    Researcher specialized in waste management and energy. Her main areas of interests are waste metabolism as well as renewable energy with special emphasis on bioenergy. She is involved in the project DECISIVE which is dealing with the valorization of biowaste from urban areas using decentralized management schemes.

    Responsible for the administration area. She also does secretarial tasks and gives support to the rest of the team, such as the preparation of documents, presentation of offers, etc.

  • Raimon Ràfols Florenciano

    Manages the Communications area. Expert in communications and design, responsible for providing support in these tasks to the team. Also keeps the public image up to date and disseminates all the activities and materials of ENT. He manages our newsletter (sENT), the web page and social networks.

  • Diego Andreucci

    Researcher

    Researcher specialized in the political ecologies of natural resource extraction in Latin America. He is one of the persons in charge of the journal Ecología Política.

  • Joaquim Muntané Puig

    Environmental consultant

    Conducts research related to waste management and helps the edition of the journal Political Ecology.

     

  • Irmak Ertör

    Researcher

    Economist and specialist researcher in political ecology and specifically in relation to fishing and aquaculture. She is one of the persons in charge of the journal “Ecología Política”.

  • Stephan Beaucher
    PhD in Information strategy management
    Linked consultant

    Has led in France the coalition OCEAN2012 for the Pew Eureopean Marine programe as policy adviser on the CFP reform. From 2006-2008 he coordinated the Ocean Campaign of Greenpeace France. His work experience include information marketing, journalism, IT strategies. In 2011 he publised the book “Plus un poisson d’ici trente ans?”. He holds a PhD in Information strategy management and a master on journalism.

  • Santigo Gorostiza
    Historian and environmental scientist
    ENT fellow

    Holds a BA in History and a BSc in Environmental Sciences. He is currently a PhD student at Centro de Estudos Sociais (CES) of Universidade de Coimbra, Portugal. His range of interests includes the socio-environmental impacts of the Spanish Civil War and the francoist dictatorship in Spain, especially during the autarkic period (1939-1959). Santiago is a fellow of the European Network of Political Ecology (ENTITLE).

  • Gabriel Weber
    PhD in Environmental Management and Accounting
    ENT fellow

    Dr. Gabriel Weber works as Professor at ISM, Hamburg. He was a Marie Curie Post Doc Fellow at ENT in the field of Political Ecology. He holds a PhD in Environmental Management and Accounting from TU Dresden in Germany. His research focuses on mitigation and adaptation to climate change, environmental policy instruments, and waste management, within the fields of ecological economics and political ecology.
