This project pursued several objectives. First, a feasibility analysis of the calculation of material flow indicators following Eurostat’s harmonised methodology for the years 1996-2013 to be included within the official regional statistics of Catalonia. Also, the compilation of the necessary database and the calculation of main indicators. Finally, identifying key sectors and policy for increasing the material efficiency of Catalonia’s metabolism.
