On Thursday 24 of November, the first session of a series of webinar of the European H2020 project SCORE (Smart Control of the Climate Resilience in European Coastal Cities) took place.
The webinar, entitled “The potential of ecosystem-based adaptation for coastal areas”, began with a presentation of the SCORE project and an introduction to the session by Maëva Voltz (Euronovia), followed by a presentation by Luís Campos Rodrigues (ENT) about ecosystem-based adaptation, focusing on the main related concepts, categories and examples of adaptation measures, and some of the most important aspects when considering the implementation of these solutions. In addition, Fokko van der Goot (EcoShape) has presented a description of real cases of implementation of ecosystem-based adaptation measures, specifically in case studies from the Netherlands and Indonesia, including a discussion of lessons learned from these interventions. The session ended with a round of questions and answers, and final conclusions.
