The project “Bio4UP – Sustainable biochar-enhanced upcycling solutions for Zero-Waste valorization of organic waste into circular economy products” now has a new website.

The project will be coordinated by Professor Antoni Sánchez, from the Department of Chemical, Biological and Environmental Engineering at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). It is an MSCA Horizon Europe project, which aims to find synergies between universities, research centers and companies in order to promote, on a European scale, the use of biochar as a key material in innovation and sustainable and circular management of organic waste in order to obtain bioproducts and bioenergy. ENT is one of the partners of the consortium.

Through interdisciplinary, intersectoral and international collaboration, the project aims to promote improved biochar solutions for:

♻️ organic waste valorization
⚡ renewable energy and biogas enhancement
🌾 sustainable agricultural inputs
🤝 staff exchanges and knowledge transfer

The website will serve as a central space to share project updates, consortium activities, staff exchanges, events and results.
The project is funded by the European Union under the Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Staff Exchanges programme.
