In March, 28 and 29, Vilanova i la Geltrú hosts a two-day workshop to prioritise a set of Ecosystem-Based Adaptation (EbA) measures to address flooding episodes in Vilanova i la Geltrú. This workshop is organized in the context of EU H2020 project SCORE (Smart control of the climate resilience of European coastal cities), which also includes other nine CCLLs (Coastal Cities Living Labs) in Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain and Turkey.

The CCLL of ‘Vilanova i la Geltrú/Province of Barcelona’ is led by ENT with the support of the Vilanova i la Geltrú City Council and the Barcelona Provincial council. Within this framework, local and regional representatives of the industry, academicians, civil society, and public institutions will meet to co-design and co-create EbA options in Vilanova i la Geltrú. Multicriteria Analysis will be the participative method followed to rank and prioritise an initial set of measures.

In the next months, it will follow a socio-economic assessment of the top ranked EbA, and propose sensors and digital twin solutions for the adaptation of this coastal area to climate change.
