In 2014, Zero Waste asked us to review a waste management plan of one of the districts of Chennai (India). Waste management is one of the main challenges that face cities of this country, and Zero Waste has the aim, in this case, of implementing the methodology “Zero Waste” in this district as a pilot project, to check its viability and possible extension throughout the city. This project is part of an initiative on waste, informal workers and the future of Chennai, driven by the organisation Transparent Chennai. Our work consisted of the review, from a technical and methodological perspective, of the plan proposal developed by Zero Waste.
