Nerea Turreira García has joined Fundació ENT to work in the waste management area and on the LIFE4EPR and COMPERF4EU projects.

Nerea Turreira García holds a PhD in Environmental Management and an MSc in Forest and Nature Management from the University of Copenhagen, as well as a BSc in Environmental Sciences from the University of the Basque Country. At ENT, she supports the management and coordination of European projects on circular economy and waste management, particularly LIFE4EPR, which aims to improve and harmonise Extended Producer Responsibility systems, and COMPERF4EU, which focuses on optimising biowaste composting and the treatment of biodegradable and compostable packaging. Within LIFE4EPR, she contributes to project coordination, policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, and consortium-wide implementation, as well as to the transferability, replication, exploitation, and long-term sustainability of the project’s results. She has extensive experience in international research and consultancy projects and specialises in socio-ecology, ethnobiology, environmental governance, local and traditional knowledge systems, participatory research, and the sustainable management of natural resources. Her professional and research experience also encompasses rural development, climate change adaptation, and citizen science.
