The study analyses the economic aspects of waste incineration in Spain. On the one hand, the economic benefits and costs involved in the construction and operation of these facilities are analysed. On the other, the incentives they receive in the form of feed-in-tariffs are also considered. Furthermore the respective environmental costs are estimated.

Waste management costs and waste charges in municipalities are also compared between municipalities that bring their wastes to incineration facilities and those who do not.

Finally, the report draws on the impact in terms of jobs of this waste management model compared to others.
