Fundació ENT is looking for a candidate to join the European projects LIFE4EPR and COMPERF4EU.

 

Description of the projects

LIFE4EPR (https://life4epr.ent.cat) is a LIFE PLP project coordinated by Fundació ENT. The project aims to strengthen and harmonise Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) systems across the EU. The project addresses existing differences in national EPR frameworks and seeks to improve their coordination, transparency and effectiveness. The candidate will contribute to the activities planned in the remaining months of the project, integrating into ongoing workflows and supporting the final phase of implementation.

COMPERF4EU (https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/101288936) is a Horizon Europe CSA project coordinated by Fundació ENT. The project aims to optimise the performance of bio-waste composting plants and contribute to a circular and environmentally safe bioeconomy. COMPERF4EU will analyse national bio-waste and biodegradable and compostable packaging policies, examine existing treatment systems and benchmark the performance of composting plants in selected EU and non-EU countries. The candidate will participate in the initial months of the project, supporting the initial coordination and analytical work.

 

Role and responsibilities

Fundació ENT coordinates both projects and leads several work packages.

The candidate will contribute to Fundació ENT’s tasks in relation to research, coordination, communication and administrative activities, under the supervision of the project coordinator. The person will support the set‑up and early coordination activities of COMPERF4EU, including the organisation and follow‑up of meetings, the preparation of coordination and quality‑assurance tools, and contributions to analytical work such as desk research and comparative assessments of regulatory biowaste/BCP frameworks in the EU, and in selected EU and non-EU countries. In LIFE4EPR, the candidate will integrate into ongoing project routines, participate in consortium meetings, assist with partner follow‑up, support administrative and financial monitoring, organise project documentation, and contribute to activities related to the transferability, replication and exploitation of project outcomes.

 

Employment conditions

• Start date: 1 October 2026.
• Dedication: full time (8 h/day).
• Period: a seven-month contract will be offered, from 1st October 2026 to 30th April 2027, including the legally applicable trial period.
• Annualised Gross Salary for a full-time position: between 32,000 and 35,000 EUR, depending on the candidate’s experience. The salary paid during the seven-month contract will be calculated proportionally.
• Place of work: most of the work will be done remotely, although physical presence may be required for some tasks. The successful candidate will have the option to work at Fundació ENT’s office (C/Llanza, 1-7. 08800 Vilanova i la Geltrú, Barcelona, Spain).
• The employment contract will be governed by Spanish labour law.

 

Essential requirements

• EU citizen candidates must have a valid passport and apply for a Foreigner’s Identity Number (Número de Identificación de Extranjero – NIE) and a social security number. Non-EU citizen candidates must have or be able to obtain before the start date, the legal right to work in Spain and the administrative documentation required for employment.
• Languages: Professional use of English (C2). Reporting will be in English.
• Degree in Environmental Sciences. Other relevant degrees may be considered (e.g. economics, political sciences).
• Previous professional experience in waste management.
• Previous professional experience in EU projects.
• Flexibility to undertake different research and consultancy tasks.
• Availability to travel within the EU to attend project meetings, workshops and events.

Desirable qualifications and experience

• Languages:
  • Professional use of Spanish and/or Catalan (C2).
  • English as native language.
• Experience in bio-waste management and/or in extended producer responsibility.
• Experience in environmental and circular economy regulations and policies.
• Experience in the design and implementation of participatory research activities such as presential and online workshops, interviews, questionnaires, and collaborative exercises, including practical use of digital facilitation tools such as Miro, Mural, Slido and Zoom for interactive sessions and stakeholder engagement.
• Previous publications in scientific journals.
