On 5 November 2026, Ignasi Puig (ENT) will participate as a speaker in the international forum “The Future of Recycling: Beyond the Global Waste Crisis?”, to be held at ESSCA School of Management in Paris, with the possibility of attending both in person and online.

Organised by the ESSCA EU*Asia Institute, the event will bring together researchers, experts and professionals from different countries to discuss the main challenges associated with the global waste crisis and the opportunities offered by the circular economy. The forum builds on the debate initiated by the “Beyond an Age of Waste” report published by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), which highlights the urgent need to move away from linear production and consumption models and accelerate the transition towards more circular and sustainable systems.

The forum will provide an opportunity to assess the extent to which international recommendations on waste prevention and management are being implemented, identify best practices, and exchange knowledge on the policies and strategies needed to address the environmental challenges linked to waste generation and treatment.

Among the invited speakers are representatives from leading universities and institutions across Europe and Asia, including Ignasi Puig, who will contribute his expertise in waste policy, environmental taxation and circular economy strategies.

Ignasi Puig’s participation in this forum further strengthens the ENT’s international presence in discussions on the transition towards a more circular and resource-efficient economy, while reaffirming its commitment to the generation and dissemination of knowledge in the fields of sustainability and environmental policy.
