The project “Training sessions on municipal waste management for members of the MedCities network” consisted in two parts. First the elaboration and development of 3 training sessions addressed to the Medcities network cities. The second part of the project was focused on mentoring two cities of the network regarding municipal solid waste management.
The training sessions addressed challenges of waste management at local level and examples of good practices in mediterranean countries, accompanied by a final participatory activity to take stock of the contents delivered in the sessions though a case study.
The mentoring sessions on municipal waste management were carried out hand in hand with Medcities for the cities of Zarqa (Jordan) and Zgharta-Edhen (Lebanon). The sessions were focused on finding specific topics/issues in the field of municipal waste management and possible low-tech/low-cost solutions to the specific challenges.
