Green waste and its management are increasingly demanding more attention because of the limitations that regulations impose on the treatment of biodegradable waste, and the fact that the generation is also growing due to low-density urbanisation patterns.
This report was commissioned by the Catalan Waste Agency (ARC) and it aimed to analyze the generation and management situation regarding this waste, to evaluate the potential of existing treatments and to identify actions that would allow better management of green waste in Catalonia, prioritizing prevention and recycling.
