On 27th July 2017 the public presentation of the “Study on the feasibility of the implementation of a deposit-refund scheme (DRS) for single-use beverage containers in Catalonia” took place with the presence of the Secretary for Environment and Sustainability , Marta Subirà, the director of the Catalan Waste Agency (ARC), Josep Maria Tost, and Ignasi Puig (ENT).
The study was commissioned by ARC and carried out by a consortium led by ENT Environment and Management and integrated by Eunomia Research & Consulting Ltd. and the Jiménez de Parga Law firm. The main objective of the study is to evaluate the technical, environmental and economic viability of the implementation of a DRS for single use beverage containers in Catalonia.
