The transition towards a circular bioeconomy depends not only on innovative solutions, but also on access to reliable, practical, and high-quality knowledge. To support this transition, the CirBioWaste project has officially launched the CirBioWaste Knowledge Hub, developed by Fundació ENT – a new online platform dedicated to sustainable bio-waste management across the Mediterranean region.
Designed as a central access point for information and resources related to bio-waste prevention, collection, treatment, and valorisation, the Knowledge Hub brings together practical tools and knowledge to support public authorities, waste management practitioners, researchers, and other stakeholders working towards more circular and sustainable waste management systems.
The CirBioWaste Knowledge Hub provides easy access to EU policy and regulatory information, reference materials, relevant projects and organisations, and best practice examples of successful bio-waste management initiatives. It also serves as a repository for CirBioWaste project outputs, including online trainings, awareness-raising materials, and the Supporting Toolkit.
At launch, the Knowledge Hub features around 190 entries organised into five main categories and supported by a tagging system to ensure intuitive navigation and user-friendly access to information. Additional resources and materials will continue to be integrated until the end of the project, further strengthening the platform’s value and relevance.
Beyond functioning as an information repository, the Knowledge Hub aims to foster peer learning, knowledge exchange, and the transfer of best practices across Mediterranean territories, reinforcing its role as a long-term reference point for circular bioeconomy and sustainable bio-waste management in the region.
