During the last week of April, the Grant Agreement for COMPERF4EU project was formally signed. Fundació ENT is the project coordinator of this new Horizon Europe project, which will start next September. COMPERF4EU will run for two and a half years.
COMPERF4EU (Optimising Biowaste Composting Plant Performance for a Circular and Safe Bioeconomy Across Europe) is a European project aimed at improving biowaste composting plants performance and supporting the safe integration of biodegradable and compostable packaging through the identification of best practices, performance benchmarking, and technical and policy recommendations for more harmonised and sustainable composting across Europe. The consortium includes six core partners — Fundació ENT, the Italian Composting and Biogas Association (CIC), the European Compost Network (ECN), Wageningen Research (WR), VLACO VZW and the Compostable by Design Platform (CbDP) — supported by four associated partners: Municipal Waste Europe (MWE), the Waste Agency of Catalonia (ARC), the US Composting Council (USCC) and the Compost Council of Canada (CCC).
