ENT is part of the consortium led by Trinomics in charge of the report “Evaluation of the EU Biodiversity Strategy to 2020”.
This project will evaluate the progress made by the EU and its Member States towards meeting biodiversity targets. In essence, this involves analysing the strategic approaches and actions undertaken to tackle biodiversity loss. This will be achieved through assessing 5 main themes of analysis: whether the Biodiversity Strategy is contributing to the aims it established; the cost-effectiveness of achieving such aims; the coherence of the Strategy with wider EU policy; the alignment of the Strategy with societal needs; and, the added value of the Strategy compared to national actions. As such, the evaluation will paint an overall picture of the fitness of the EU Biodiversity Strategy to 2020.
