On 11th February is was celebrated the second online capacity-building session of the WOODCIRCLES programme, organised by Urbasofia, for Tartu stakeholders. Fundació ENT participated in the capacity-building session aimed at supporting local public authorities, businesses, designers and construction professionals in advancing wood circularity in practice.
During the second sesión, named “Wood Circularity: impact, products, policy levers ansd best practice case studies”, Verónica Martínez (Fundació ENT) presented on the sustainability benefits of building with reclaimed wood, highlighting the life-cycle approach and the three sustainability pillars applied within the WOODCIRCLES project. Further contributions included Reeta-Maria Stod (Stora Enso), who presented concept and the production of new engineered wood products from reclaimed Wood and shared practical experience from timber construction; and Madalina Rusen (Urbasofia), who identified the main policy levers to enable Wood waste upcycling based on best practices in the construction sector.
The next capacity-building session, targeting Tartu stakeholders, will take place in March 4th and will focus on Design for Assembly and Disassembly and digital tools, further strengthening knowledge on circular wood construction process.
