Extended
Producer
Responsibility

Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is an environmental policy that assigns producers the responsibility for managing their products once they become waste at the end of their useful life. This approach is based on the “polluter pays” principle and seeks to encourage producers to design more sustainable products and to assume efficient waste‑management practices.

At ENT we have carried out projects related to Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) across multiple areas, which has provided us with extensive knowledge and a broad, integrated perspective on this policy. We develop a wide range of EPR‑related projects, from analysing how EPR should be designed for a specific waste stream (competences, legal framework, expected outcomes, etc.), to ex‑post assessments of how EPR is being implemented and its impact on collection performance, as well as projects for private stakeholders to support them in complying with regulatory obligations, among others.
