Last Wednesday 15th of March, Veronica Martinez-Sanchez gave a presentation about Life Cycle Costing in the course “Sustainable Energy and Environment” of the INNOENERGY Master “SELECT – Pathways for Sustainable Energy Systems” coordinated by César Valderrama. While some students attended the presentation in Barcelona (ETSEIB – Escola Tècnica Superior d’Enginyeria Industrial de Barcelona) others did so from Stockholm (KTH – Royal Institute of Technology).
Veronica’s talk briefly introduced general concepts of waste management systems and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and pointed out the importance of complementing LCAs with economic performances. The core of the presentation focused on the Life Cycle Costing methodology as well as key results of two case studies carried out in Denmark and USA.
