On Wednesday, November 6, Karin Meisterl (Fundació ENT) will present the Biocircularcities project on behalf of CBE JU (Circular Biobased Europe Joint Undertaking) in the session titled “City Regeneration, Circularity, and Health: National and European Policies to Improve Urban Quality of Life – PART 1 | Challenges and Strategies of Cities towards Circular Transition” at Ecomondo 2024 in Rimini, Italy.

The Biocircularcities (BCC) project, which was coordinated by ENT from 2021 to 2023, aimed to transform urban environments with innovative solutions, such as bread made from flour derived from coffee silverskin, biochemicals from unused forestry residues, and waste collection vehicles powered by biomethane from municipal biowaste. These initiatives could soon be seen in cities like Naples, Pazardzhik, and Barcelona, all thanks to CBE JU (previously under the name BBI-JU) funding.

Ecomondo 2024 is a leading international trade fair that focuses on the latest advancements in the green economy and sustainable practices. It will bring together industry professionals, policymakers, and researchers to explore topics in waste management, circular economy, renewable energy, and environmental technologies. With a rich program of conferences, workshops, and exhibitions, Ecomondo serves as a vital platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and promoting sustainable solutions to pressing environmental challenges.
