In early 2014 began a new era for fisheries management in the European Union. A new common fisheries policy, aimed at restoring fish stocks in the EU, came into force. During the past five years, Pew Charitable Trust and 192 other organizations worked through OCEAN2012 coalition to support an ambitious reform. Although the process was successful, overfishing is far from over. The legislation should be applied correctly in the waters so that the new policy achieves its objectives.
For this to happen, Pew Charitable Trust released a centered end overfishing in the northwest European waters campaign. ENT acts as Pew consultant in Spain.
