The first Blue Eco Forum will be held next Friday, 25th of November, at the Maritime Museum of Barcelona. This unique event, co-organized by several entities -including ENT Foundation, eco-union and EUCC Mediterranean Centre- will bring together more than 30 international speakers and more than 100 participants from all sectors (including private and public sector, research centres, NGOs and civil society) to discuss about the main environmental and socio-economic challenges of the Mediterranean Sea. New solutions will be also explored to promote a more sustainable and inclusive development of the region.
Labelled as an official Marrakech COP-22 side event, the Blue Eco Forum will have high-level debates in plenary sessions, followed by parallel workshops on the topics of fisheries, governance and marine litter.
The workshop dedicated to fisheries organized by the ENT Foundation, under the title A Sea of Challenges, will be moderated by the Director of the Palamós Fishing Museum and will count with the participation of the General Director for Fisheries and Maritime Affairs of the Catalan Government, as well as representatives from different institutions, among which ICTA-UAB, nef, Oceana, MedReAct and LIFE Platform.
Educational and cultural activities for the general public will take place in the afternoon (please see the agenda below) and the event will close with the premiere of the documentary Desierto Líquido, with the participation of its directors and some of its protagonists.
