Within OptFor-EU project we keep on progressing towards the development of a Decision Support System (DSS) to assist forest managers and forest owners in the implementation of Forest Management Practices for climate change adaptation and mitigation.
Partners from BOKU Univeristy, Hereon, INDICS have compiled an extensive collection of Essential Forest Mitigation Indicators (EFMIs) that will help characterise the potential for forest decarbonization. They can be used to guide mitigation and adaptation measures, and to provide evidence of the impacts of forest management practices on the forest’s decarbonisation potential.
The final set of indicators will be co-selected with the stakeholders/ end users (Forest Managers) to document their information needs and interests concerning enhancing forest decarbonisation through active forest management activities in the face of global change.
The survey lasts about 20 – 30 minutes to answer. If you are a forest manager familiar with the monitoring, assessment and reporting of forest data, you can answer it in the link below by September 30th.
