The European Commission has awarded ENT a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship for Dr. Jaume Freire. The researcher will spend 1.5 years doing research at Harvard University with Professor Dale Jorgenson, starting in June 2016. Then he will go back to ENT, for 1 more year to finish the research project.
The project, called METRES (Modelling Environmental Tax Reform in Spain), aims at evaluating the double dividend hypothesis of environmental taxation in Spain. To do this, he will develop an Intertemporal General Equilibrium Model to assess the economic and the environmental effects of an Environmental Tax Reform and of some of the main environmental taxes in Spain at different administrative levels, as well as various proposed policy reforms.
