Luís Campos Rodrigues (ENT) was one of the speakers at the regional workshop “Human impacts on Mediterranean marine ecosystems and the economy”. The event was held at the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco on the 18th and 19th of October.
Plan Bleu and the Scientific Centre of Monaco co-organized the workshop in the frame of the MedECC initiative. Luís Campos presented various case studies associated with the socio-economic impact of sea warming and ocean acidification in the Mediterranean Sea. The workshop counted on the development of working groups composed of experts from natural and social sciences. The discussion focused on the main environmental problems affecting the Northern, Eastern, and Southern areas of the Mediterranean, their societal implications, knowledge gaps, and potential solutions.
